Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to participation packages and festival passes purchased via the SICMF website (www.sicmf.co.za). Concert tickets are sold via third-party ticketing platforms and are governed by the terms and conditions of those providers.

2. Payments

  • All payments are processed exclusively via PayFast.
  • A participant’s place or festival pass is confirmed only once payment has been successfully received, unless a bursary has been awarded.
  • SICMF does not store or have access to card or banking details.

3. Refund Policy

  • All fees are strictly non-refundable.
  • No refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including withdrawal, non-attendance, illness, visa issues, late arrival, or early departure.
  • Festival passes are non-refundable for any reason, including non-attendance.

4. Festival Pass Conditions

  • Purchases are limited to one (1) festival pass per buyer.
  • Passes are tied strictly to the buyer’s name and cannot be transferred, resold, or gifted to another person.
  • The pass guarantees access to a centralised, sectioned area inside Endler Hall for festival pass holders.
  • Your specific seat number within this section is automatically assigned after checkout.
  • You must collect your physical lanyard at the festival desk (SU Konservatorium) before your first concert. This lanyard will display your name and assigned seat number.
  • The physical lanyard must be worn and visible at all times, and tickets must be collected at the ticketing table before every evening concert. These are required to enter the venue.
  • Discounted student and pensioner passes require valid proof of eligibility at the point of collection. The ID number provided at checkout must match the identification presented at the festival desk.

5. Bursaries

  • Bursaries are open to South African citizens only.
  • Applicants must submit a bursary motivation demonstrating genuine financial need.
  • Bursaries are awarded on merit and subject to availability of funds.
  • Decisions taken by SICMF management regarding bursaries are final.
  • Unsuccessful bursary applicants must make full payment by the published deadline in order to secure participation.
  • Bursaries (full or partial) are non-transferable and non-refundable.

6. Code of Conduct All participants and festival pass holders are required to comply with the applicable Stellenbosch University code of conduct and all Festival rules as published on the SICMF website. Any person found to be in breach of the code of conduct may be required to leave the Festival with immediate effect and without refund or compensation.

7. Festival Changes or Cancellation In the unlikely event that the Festival or a participation programme is cancelled due to circumstances beyond SICMF’s reasonable control, SICMF will communicate directly with affected participants and pass holders. PayFast transaction fees are non-refundable.

8. Transfers Participation places may not be resold or transferred for commercial gain. Festival passes are strictly non-transferable under any circumstances. Any participation transfer requests must be submitted in writing and are subject to SICMF approval.

9. Liability Participation and attendance is at the individual’s own risk. SICMF, its staff, partners, and venues accept no liability for loss, damage, injury, or personal belongings, except where required under South African law.

10. Photography and Recording Festival activities may be photographed or recorded for archival, educational, and promotional purposes. Participation and attendance constitutes consent unless otherwise agreed in writing.

11. Privacy Personal information collected during the registration and payment process is used solely for Festival administration and communication and will not be shared with third parties except where required for PayFast payment processing or by law.

12. Governing Law These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
